Manivest Group hosted the 25th anniversary and the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou office on 26 August 2011, attracting nearly a hundred lawyers specially handling foreign-related matters, financial figures, entrepreneurs and some media friends from Hangzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Hong Kong. The celebration contained two sessions, that is, seminar and dinner party.
Seminar on Initial Public Offerings (IPO) in Hong Kong for People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) Enterprises
The seminar speakers were Mr. Stephen Ye (Vice President of Mainland Development of Hong Kong Exchange Group), Mr. Andrew Lui (Partner of Lister Lo Lui & Choy), and Mr. Horace Ho (Director and Accountant of Manivest Group), during which the above speakers shared their knowledge under the theme of how to go public in Hong Kong for PRC corporations with the participating lawyers concerned with foreign affairs, entrepreneurs and other attending professionals.
The three speakers grasped the theme from the respective positions of government, law, finance and accounting, whose speeches became well received by the attendants. The first speech given by Mr. Ye’s concentrated on ‘Hong Kong, Ideal Destination for PRC Company’s Overseas IPO’, followed by Mr. Lui’s comprehension and detailed explanations of ‘Legal Issues involved in Pre-IPO in Hong Kong’. The conclusive speech was delivered by Mr. Ho paying close attention to ‘Why does your client need Pre-IPO Due Diligence and How to do it?’
Roundtable Dinner Party
Moving on from the seminar, a dinner party was held in a grand and ardent condition. Manivest Group’s staff and friends, both newly-acquainted and old, were happily gathered together in the same hall, celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Manivest Group while toasting to the spectacular opening ceremony of the Hangzhou Branch. The joyous occasion was filled with happy laughters and cheerful voices in a harmonious atmosphere.
The above events were highly regarded by the Hangzhou media. ‘Daily Commercial ’, a pioneering local financial and economic medium informed its readers through a report of this function with the title of ‘Manivest Group from Hong Kong Set Up An Office in the Centre of Electronic Commerce’.

The seminar attracted numerous lawyers engaging in foreign affairs from top tier lawyer firms in Hangzhou, including practising lawyers from L & H Law Firm, Zhejiang T & C Law Firm, Zhejiang Brighteous Law Firm, Deheng Law Offices and High Mark Law Firm, who are interested in the legal and operational aspects of offshore companies, especially Hong Kong companies.
Seminar participants discussed and shared with Ms. Kong and among themselves enthusiastically during the coffee break and question and answer session. The questions raised were mainly related to Hong Kong company’s compulsory liquidation and creditors’ liquidation, resolution of shareholders, auditors report, and Hong Kong resident.
